Be careful Omega! You’re pushing loyal supporters/collectors away because your OB’s provide us inaccurate information, a lack of information, and your national campaign’s are even worse! I won’t go into other area’s, but I will say this; You took my deposit and promised a watch in August. WHERE IS IT?

I agree with your take on this. Don't demand a deposit from me, without expecting me to demand a delivery date from you, and, with me then holding you accountable to that date. I don't blame the staff in the boutique, they are at the end of the information flow. I had a deposit down on the new SMPc, I placed this deposit at the Omega Collector special event in Utah earlier this year, and was told August/September. OK, good enough for me no problem. Next thing I know, a friend at an AD contacts me and tells me he's got one if I want it. WTF? How does an AD get it before Omega boutiques get it - furthermore, my boutique still had no idea when they would get any, and was now saying "maybe October"..... so I withdrew my deposit, happily purchased it from the AD at a discount, which was in my hands the next day from across the country. How is this possibly good for Omega retail?

That's messed up. Is it possible the OB got one/some in and there were others ahead of you on the list? Or did they not get any at all?

Tried it on yesterday. Apart from all the fingerprints and smudges, it is stunning. Not my cup of tea, but stunning nonetheless.

Didn't specifically say, other than "you can't have this exact one".

I was there picking up a Nato & looking at another couple of pieces, but they practically insisted I try it and the only WSOTM in the country (so I was told), on while I was there.

Wow, I'm sure there is a lot of R&D to make a white ceramic watch, but it looks kind of freaky.

I definitely prefer the Apollo 8 over the white ceramic. The white looks plasticky or rather cheap from photos. The actual set might look different in real life though...

In real life, it's nice, just a bit loud for me. If anything, it was the strap I didn't like. Too much white and the extra glossy finish looked cheap, almost like fake leather.

Shhhh. Let’s stay quiet about this one. I’m looking forward to an opportunity to casually go to a store, try it on, talk watches with a knowledgeable sales associate, go home, have a whiskey, decide I like it, then go back a few days later and buy it ... because it’s still there.

I’m tired of buying watches like they’re Air Jordans or Nintendos or Planters Cheez Balls

...but have you tried the Cheez Balls?

Seriously though, as much as I love the textured dial, soon as they give this movement execution the clean GSOTM treatment, I'm all-in.

Same story here except I did not pay a deposit. Here the OB just told that they put me on the list for the new 300 diver back in July. At that time it was "possibly from September" and now we turned into "hopefully October". At the same time I see the new model all over the internet, also there are people already selling them as used in the UK and in the US... as they had had them over the last couple of weeks, but figured out it's not their thing.

My guess is that they prioritize geographies where they expect the bigger number of "impulse buyers" who just walk in and buy a nice watch... vs. a couple of collectors sitting at developing markets or not so wealthy regions. From a profit maximisation perspective this might be a good decision, but they forget that they sell (or at least intend to) sell something more than a piece of metal.

Also you would expect that a watchmaking company should be accurate. Right? 😀

Anyway, I'm still waiting for the new watch... my money is not sitting in it, so I have nothing to loose... but still this is strange. So I'm completely witih you on this one.

I guess I’ll wait until I see one in the flesh, but that WSOTM looks really tacky. You can see that it comes from the Swatch group as it resembles a Swatch watch more than a Speedy Pro 😲

I agree, it honestly looks like a cheaper watch then it's meant to be.

I do like the red speedy logo though, provides a nice contrast and I'm sure there's someone who'll appreciate this watch.
