Hi guys,

Just had the chance to get sent a Speedmaster anniversary poster. Quite happy about it but I don’t know what kind of frame I need for it.

Does any of you framed it and could tell me the dimensions of your frame or some recommendations where to get it from?

Thanks for your answer
Regards,
Paulo.

Framing a poster (or any picture) depends on the dimensions, what kind of matting (if any), and overall aesthetics (height and width). You can try to get a standard frame for it or go to a framing shop and have it custom done to your specs.

As someone who has collected a few vintage TWA lithograph posters, I can say there's a couple of different levels of framing a poster. If you think the poster won't rise in value, a regular frame shop will do. The next step would be to go to an actual vintage poster broker and have the poster linen-backed and framed with UV protective glass. For my TWAs (24 x 40) that has run between three and four hundred dollars for linen-backing, UV glass and a simple, clean mid-century modern style frame.

I also received an anniversary speedmaster poster and went to my local ikea store and for 14 euro picked a simple lightweight frame so as not to take away from the poster itself.
