I might have missed it, but what is the asking price of the watch vis-à-vis the authentic modern ED?

We recently had a mixed UM for sale here with 321 as well. That watch was also made from genuine Oh-mega parts and garnered quite a bit of attention. That watch was selling at a substantial discount vs ST2.

I like this ED as well as the moded UM, both have a place in the hobby. As someone else pointed out, they could serve well in a regular rotation.

Well, the Watchco prices are never going back down, so it’ll be tricky to test your theory.

Never?

Never?
Though related to a peer,
I can hand, reef, and steer,
And ship a selvagee;
I am never known to quail
At the fury of a gale,
And I'm never, never sick at sea!
What, never?

No, never!

What, never?

Hardly ever!

He's hardly ever sick at sea!
Then give three cheers, and one cheer more, for the hardy Captain of the Pinafore!

This post is intriguing for me, like 20 years ago I was thinking in doing the same thing, remember back on those days the market was way different than today, vintage Speedmasters were cheaper than a new one and they were available everywhere, plus Omega hasn't put in place the parts restriction, so your could buy ever single part from WatchCo to build virtually any Omega you want.

So I remember that I did the math and just the cost of the parts from WatchCo add much more than the price of a brand new one, so I took the route of vintage, and today I 'm very happy that I did so.

Whilst we’re discussing parts…

does the modern Ed white bracelet fit the original Ed white cases?

I have a 105.005-65 and would like to buy the modern bracelet for it

I’ve searched the forum but couldn’t find the answer

How hard is these days to find Speedmater Pro service / replacement cases from Omega? Remember seeing them for sales years back

Impossible. Well, someone might have one laying around for sale. You might find a random store that may have one for sale or another that stripped a Speedmaster for parts. The odds of seeing, let alone purchasing, one officially from Omega is exactly zero unless as part of an official repair/service by Omega or an authorized independent service agent.

I would buy. If you think about it, this watch is more like Ed's watch when he got it.

Have seen 1st gen FOIS with 321 movements, that seems to be a cheaper option if a complete 321 movement can be sourced for a good price (service dials and hands easy to find)
