Good afternoon (in Europe...😉) Guys!

So the consensus of this watch is:
Correct parts
The dial aint sexy, and the lumeplots are not so nice either
Price is ok, with the economic times that we have now
I can't get info about the case - so we don't know the condition?
No pictures of caseback or movement
The bracelet doesn't do anything...
Heres another picture from Bonhams, and do think that it looks nice when wearing (from a distance..)!

But don't you think that the buyer is happy??

I could definitely live with that dial at that price. I think the end result was about right given the economic uncertainty.

erhhh.. it was just me explaining my spelling/writing error...😗
Soooo nooo more pics...
Haha, get it! Anyway it was interesting watch. And I am actually on the market for 2998 and that was my range of money (so not so much to get a perfect one and definitely that was an interesting option).

@TheGreatKat, so you're seriously looking? where you at the auction?

And there was one up here in Sweden a few weeks ago, but no winner! I looked at it for while and it had a few issues...

Yes, I’m kind of obsessed with that reference. But I aim more in later ones. I dont care about base 1000 as I know how much it costs so I am looking for later ones and attractive condition. I completely missed this one and also even if I saw it I would think it will sell higher. Since some 2998 and 2915 with this chocolote brown dials went crazy I still find any attractive piece like that (even with some issues) to go much higher… anyway still waiting for mine 😀

You know, sometimes you could call or email the auction house and ask them if you could buy watches that didn't sell?
I was thinking about the one here in Sweden?🙄

Could you send me the link, or is it not available already? With that picture abouve it looks it's not something which I'm looking for but I will look closer with pleasure. The estimates were cheap (I guess with reason). I have bigger budget for my hunting but not big enough to fight for early references or prestine condition. Still sometimes pop up something just in the middle. I have time, I'm not in hurry 😀

Well, i didn't look closely at the watch, since it wasn't interesting, I liked the lume...🤔
So thanks for the info, once again - I will stay away from these, and learn more on the newer Speedys!

Cheers!

The auction is closed, but I think the link works?

I did contact their watch guy who is a Speedypro so we had a chat about this one...
Most of the parts are replacements, but the dial looks kind of nice?

Errhhmmm - were are you from? I am going past the auction house next month...🙄

Thank you! It's not what I'm looking for. So many replacement parts that it's not what I love in 2998. Also the movement's screws were treated bad so you can imagine it was serviced by unexperienced hands...

Is it 105.003 dial? I can not see the swiss made print properly, did you judge by a font?

Yes looks like 105.003 dial with tritium and narrow T Swiss Made T.

Yes, I know that, the thing is that I'm trying to learn/focus on the newer ones...😗
2998:s are not my "target" right now, but really beautiful watches.
I did a quicky on Speedmaster101 and on this forum, and maaaaan...... I understand why some people only focus on specific references!
Just curious, what references/period of speedies you are interested in? Have you got your grail? 😀

I like the brown but I'm not a fan of the moldy lume. What's up with that bracelet? It looks weird
Random bracelet, no added value to the watch.
