Omega Speedmaster 145.022/145.0022 on an auction today!

Here is a watch that I actually had no interest in, that was up for an auction today!
The reason was that it had a full Omega service during 2023,
and most of the original parts were replaced (they were in a bag….).
The case had also been work over, but the larger damages where still visible.
Serial nr 44122500, so an early 80:s watch.
Some people might fancy a watch that looks fresh from an Omegaservice with some warranty left?

And since I had a really really boring meeting, I could follow the auction…😀
The starting bid was at 3400 € / 3700 $ including the premium.

I actually thought that it was a bit high for this watch.

But there were lots of biding from the floor, and the hammer went down at 5145 € /5575 $!

Crazy Days!

I’d call it a case of Auction Fever between 2 bidders. I don’t think you missed anything, or if you did I did too. (Unless it’s hidden in the parts bags, which would explain floor bidding also but I think my first guess is more likely)

Could be so, I have lost it a couple of time myself!
But even though....Its not a very valuable reference??

It’s wearing its original bezel I think.

Meh. No attraction for me but each to their own.
