He was sure I had MWO open, double-checking what you guys said 😉

I wasn’t. 😝 My comments were based on own observations and extracts of different watches I have or have had. 😀

Ah, OK, got it now. 😁

Next time you sell a 69 for 3800€ please give me a call 😲
I'm thinking about a transitional or a 69 to sit next to the 105.012-66
OK! I'll let you know!

So you think i should try to go for a 321 instead, before it is to late and the prices has gone up even more?

Maybe I'm wrong but your Speedy looks a bit polished or worn.

The edges (highlighted with the red arrows) should be extremely sharp as shown in the second picture.

Sharp edges

Concerning the sides (yellow arrows), they should exhibit a brushed finishing that I can not see on yours (maybe because of the picture).

Brushed finishing.

Nevertheless, your 145.022-69 is a very nice one 👍

I have seen a lot of -69s from 1970 : no one had this lume. I keep my question mark about that dial. 😒

I have done som research on the dial and as said it is a step dial if replaced it would not be a step dial, and also a quick google search on 145.022-69 gets me a lot of same looking dials...

I have looked on those pictures and the light is really really bad and bad reflections, if you look at this picture you se that the edges are sharp, but still it is a 50 year old watch, and they could have been sharper when it was new of course

Why?

If replaced early because of a misprint or another issue, could absolutely be a replacement step dial.

And yes, it happens that a dial has to be replaced short after the sale, even nowadays, see SpeedyTuesday...

I think the lume is probably OK, would like to see macro shots of it if possible. Also try charging it under a bright light for a minute or so, then turn the lights off and take a photo? We can get a better idea about it from that.

I have tried the lume and "charge" it under direct light, then 100% darkness, very weak lume that fades away in a few seconds, so typically what should be normal on a vintage watch?

here is a close up

Yeah, that's pretty normal. Lume looks more or less OK in the macro - do you know if this spent most of its life indoors?

I thought it was common knowledge that dials of this era tend to turn a lightish green rather than the usual yellow on earlier tritium dials.

Agree. Lume looks fine for a -69 to me.

Yep, usually on 1971-later dials, but this one's close enough to that range that it doesn't raise any questions for me
