Hi guys

Maybe a good place to ask regarding a cal. 321 Speedmaster which I'm looking to buy.

What do you think about the watch? Anything weird? It's a 145.012, Cal. 361 from 1968. I want to avoid making a mistake, as it will be my first Speedmaster I'm not an expert and thankful for any Inputs.

According to the seller the watch is all original except that the Bezel was replaced and the caseback was replaced.
The watch is in working condition, but needs a service as the reset of the 12h Display is not always working. As well the back shows slight traces of corrosion.

As I'm not in a hurry and don't want to overpay; What do you think would be an appropriate Price range for such a watch in that condition?
As well, what does a proper Service at a Omega Boutique costs (as I will have to include this Costs as well in my decision making).

Still quite new to the Forum, appreciate the help 馃槈! Thx.

I wouldn't even bother with this watch. Needs a service, replacement case back, wrong bezel and the dial appears to be also missing all of its lume. It's a headache watch for a new collector, or a watch for someone who's sitting on loads of spare parts bought cheaply 5 years ago.

I wouldn't bother with this unless it's dirt cheap.

The correct bezel holds a lot of value and the casebacks are not easy to find. The dial is devoid of lume and any charm and the case looks quite soft.

Not attractive nor anywhere near original.

Agree, don鈥檛 go for this one. There are way better examples available.
How much is the seller asking?

It is an auction. At the moment the price is at around 5000 USD. What is an expected price for a decdnt version?

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Quite helpful, watch looked nice in my opinion. Was not aware of all this point.
Guess I will look further and search for a better cal 321 speedmaster 馃榾.

It鈥檚 overpriced already

Agreed, I really don't understand the desperation to own a Speedmaster where $5K could be seen as fair value for such a watch. For $5K I can find soooo many nice watches!

Completely agree. You'll need a bigger budget to get a nice 321 or alternatively you can get a lovely -69 cal 861 for around $5k.

Even nice examples of 145.012 are available below 5k. Just saw a decent one for auction closing at 3.800 GBP

I鈥檓 used to look at ricardo.ch (as ebay is not so much used in Switzerland) or Chrono24 (often too expensive in my opinion regarding cal 321 watches or end 60s/ 70s cal 861). But I will keep looking, would love to have a decent 321.

Got any pics? If it's a 145.012 hammering at 拢3800 it either has major issues, has significant fees to add or was missed by the market. That is not a typical price and buyers could be waiting years in the hope of finding a good one for that.

Where can I find them on the forum (guess a stupid question, but not so used to it)?
Would be willing to spend up to 10k for a nice 321. But don鈥檛 want to overpay nor get a crappy one as I want to wear the watch for the next 20 years and afterwards give it to my son 馃槈.

Best sources are eBay, local sales platforms (Ricardo.ch in your case) and the FS section of this or similar forums.
Best advice: do your research an be very patient. Your chance will come but spend your 10 grand wisely and be educated on what you buy.

When you get a vintage Speedmaster, never, ever, leave it to a Omega Boutique for service. Or another Omega AD...
There's a big risk that they start ripping vintage parts of and replacing them with new.
You need an experienced watchmaker for the service. References for these are all over the forum, depending on where you are located...
My recent full service (no parts needed) for my cal 321 105.012 was 8500 SEK = approx 810 EUR and i think this a quite common pricing
