Speedmaster 125 … am I missing something ?

Hey all
I have had a 125 for several years among other Speedies. It gets worn in rotation but today I picked it up and it just separated. I know this piece is designed to be taken out. The o-ring that runs around the movement “block” has basically perished away.
But surely, surely this is not the only thing holding the movement into the bracelet ?
Surely a screw or something has come out too ?
I have found the o-ring at Cousins but am thinking there’s something else ?
Glue ? I doubt it
Any help appreciated

Pretty sure it is only that o-ring and tension keeping the module in the case. And they will decay over time.

yes it is just the O-ring. Speedy 4.5s also have a movement carrier that can be separated from the rest of the case. I have a press that was made by my watchmaker to do just that and to re-install the carrier.

and partway through this thread is a project that I probably should not have done after consulting with Chuck.

Thank you. That’s a very Spartan arrangement
