Hello guys,

I was offered a nice Speedy 105.012-66 with 2400xxxx serial.
Could that be possible or isn't it a bit low for a -66?
I guess there's also no way to find out with an EoA?

Maybe someone can help me

Thank you!
S.

More likely a 105.012-65 movement number.

There are two links to 105.012 with serials 2400 xxxx that have been sold in the past on this forum.
https://omegaforums.net/threads/196...05-012-65-1506-16-bracelet-great-dial.117777/
https://omegaforums.net/threads/196...-moon-on-1506-superb-vintage-condition.41077/
Both are 105.012-65.

According to the Speedmaster 101 description, the 105.012-66 serial starts with 2453 xxxx.
https://speedmaster101.com/105-012/

I found this post in a past thread.
https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-105-012-serial-number.39500/

You can also go to the I love my Speedmaster site and type in the serial and it will give you the date of manufacture.

Is there a 105.012-66 stamped on the back of the case back?

This is just a guess on my part, but maybe '66 is the year the watch was sold.

MoonWatchOnly says the same thing: -66 start at 24.013xxxx...

@gemini4 thank you, that's what I thought too

@mountainunder
Well, it's a -66 caseback

I've seen the Speedmaster101 serial table, but the watch I've been offered doesn't seem altered.
I don't think of a changed caseback too.

Found one thread where another 2400xxxx watch with 66 caseback is mentioned.

@befobe Thank you, don't have my book with me and I'm not at home rn.

@Patrik83 I will post a pic...
Don't think the caseback has been changed.

Ilovemyspeedmaster dates it at June 66

This is the watch

As a ref 105.012-65 I assume.

Pity! Looks nice but doesn't seem legit

This is the problem with having "too much" information. I suppose that 15 years ago, nobody would even have questioned this watch.

Word!

But today such a watch is more like 10 or 12k than 4 or 5, so everyone is more careful with the details.
