Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch

105.012-65 reference with cal. 321 movement

240037XX serial number circa 1965 production

This watch has come from an estate of the original watch in Northeast part of the country and was kept in very original and hardly worn condition. Nothing has been swapped, polished, refinished, added or subtracted from its original condition (except for some gunk cleaned up a bit under the lugs and by end-links).

The case is in superb vintage condition and can be safely declared as unpolished. Very sharp edged, very clear original finishes. Minor signs of wear in form of scratches and small dings, but probably never been in same room with a polisher.

The original DON bezel is in excellent vintage condition. It is damage free, no chips, major dings or flaking.

Original skinny logo crown, original pushers.

Original skinny logo Omega hesalite crystal is in excellent condition with only minor surface scuffs.

The bracelet is in incredible vintage condition. It is reference 1506 with number 16 end-links, which is correct for this references. Fully linked, shows barely any stretch, none of the spring-loaded links are stretched out, the clasp is still "tight" to open. Bracelet is dated '66 which is period correct.

The dial is flawless, original tritium with applied logo. No chips, scratches, spotting, or any other aging/damage. The luminous material is original, correct texture and consistency, nicely aged to a yellow patina. The puffy application is correct and this is not relume.

The hands are original with matching patina. The minute hand's lume has darkened. There are no tool marks or paint chipping on the hands.

The caseback is original, stamped 105.012-65 inside and has a very crisp outer engraving with original concentric finish on outside. There are no watchmaker's marks on inside of the caseback, so I believe the seller handling the estate was the first person to ever open the caseback and me being the second.

Overall, this is one of the best examples of this reference I have ever had. There were no box or papers. The watch winds smooth and runs smoothly and seems to keep good time. The chronographs also runs, stops, and resets back to zero as it should, but I do not believe the watch has ever been serviced or touched by watchmaker. If you take a closer look at the movement, you can see none of the screws have any tool marks on them, therefore never been out of the case. The case gasket has flattened over the years as expected, further reinforcing the untouched theory.
