Speed master Chrono Second Hand Automatically Reset

I have a brand new Speedmaster that I wind every day and run the chrono second hand to the day of the month and stop it. That being a hack for not having a date function. Today I noticed a couple hours after setting the “day” it reset itself. I’ve had the watch for a week and this is the first time it’s happened. Anyone have some idea of why this would happen?

Most likely the reset pusher was activated without you knowing.

And when you get that first scratch on it, you will be absolutely positive you didn’t bang it against anything … but you did. 😀

Mine resets 1440 times a day when I have it running.
