I came across this the other day in my searches.

It's such a strange one. The clearly miss matched hands and the ridiculous spacer around the movement. It's so blatant that it makes you wonder whether it is a genuinely naive seller.

Really wanted that authentic space mission feel. Appears he took a chapter form the Apollo 13 playbook on how to fix something with anything you have laying around.

More a MacGyver special.

Is there anything here that might actually be worth having? Looking at the Ebay pictures it’s hard to spot anything that’s not in poor condition, even allowing that it seems to have been put together from any spares that were to hand. (Including cardboard!).

It's so utterly ridiculous that I'm starting to think it may be a spoof listing, but then its not April 1st...

Looking at the description and in the context of the house clearance items that the lister is selling, I’m more leaning to someone that’s done a real basic bit of research and missed by a county mile. (Sorry, I have yet to have my naivety beaten out of my by the forum)

Bargain! It’s back on again half price but you will have to pay postage this time. The description has also been amended to drop the claim that it is “untouched “

What I don't understand is, why shouldn't you give this Ed White a service before putting in on Ebay? I think that you can earn back these servicecosts and see an happy buyer. If the quality is good, the price becomes less important imo.

Yes - wasn't aware that the inner cover was missing, so that makes sense.
Must be the limited edition lightweight racing version?
That's not cardboard, looks like 1960's prototype carbon fibre to me.........

The movement’s very dark in places - but I think I can see a Gollum wheel in there...::rimshot::
