On the positive side, it has a meteorite DON bezel.

Except it's not a DON bezel.

So it has a trashed DNN bezel, wrong chrono hand, three wrong subdial hands, the dial has been washed off all lume, the movement is thrashed, and it's missing the dust cover. What a dog.

[Tongue in cheek on] On behalf of everyone who likes dogs; this could be taken as an insult. 😉 [Tongue in cheek off]

On a serious note...if it's even possible to adopt one after looking at this thing...how much do we think it's worth, as is? £2500? Or is that being generous?

It doesn't have much value, even as parts - I don't trust that there are any salvageable movement parts for spares, the case is super thrashed.... I can't find the listing to see more photos but maybe the crown and pushers are usable, the hour/min/chrono sweep could be relumed and used too I suppose. Still not worth too much

I'm just waiting for some bright spark to come along and say they love the 'well worn' look and it is surely worth around €5-6K, blah, blah, blah...
Oh come on ... it’s an honest watch what has lived life to the fullest!

Bullshit its a basket case put together out of disparate bits designed to ensnare the unwary. Or were you just yanking his chain 😀

I agree with Larry S. What a story that watch tells!

For example:

The movement probably came from a mafia victim pulled out of the river after a year-long soak.

The bezel was probably found by a plumber, firmly lodged in the blades of a garbage disposal.

The dust cap was probably repurposed as a spoon to give life-saving nourishment to a stray dog that was on its last legs, and would no longer fit back in the case.

Etc...

I wouldn't describe that case as "super thrashed" - it's definitely scratched up, but doesn't look overly polished. It's probably the best part of the whole thing, so that's what $2500 worth of parts? Beyond that it's a basket case.

FWOW, a spectacular train wreck indeed!
The cardboard movement spacer/gasket is really something...

I don't see what you're all on about. It's a valuable watch with papers. The paper just happens to be inside the watch. 😜

A very odd description. "DO NOT SEND ANY EMAIL ADDRESS AS IT WILL BE REPORTED TO EBAY" - why would anyone seriously feel the need to put that?

If you look at the other listings he has... he's also selling £100 worth of notes for £200 👍

Yes, there’s a lot of shouting in the listing, I’m most certainly not going to ask 🙄

Had good feedback for selling this recently for just shy of 1,000 quid...
