Sony Wena 3 Smart Buckle - anyone tried it?

I've recently got a fitness bug, but I'm reluctant to give up the analogue charm of my mechanical Speedy for a Fitbit (besides I love using the Chrono to time my break between sets).

However this neat little device puts a heart rate monitor, step count, NFC payments etc in the buckle of a traditional mechanical watch.

Has anyone ever tried it? On an Omega? Specifically a Speedmaster? If so, how was it for comfort and fit? I'm intrigued by this and am half thinking of an impulse buy.

This reviewer is not great, but you'll get the idea:

Going to need custom straps for that. Interesting idea!

Haha, I just saw on that on a reddit sub that I won't name here.... Everyone was ready to make fun of it, but then realized they all secretly really wanted one.

Not sure if I would spring for this exact model, but could really see going for something similar if the design could get slimmed a bit and if they continue updating the functions.

I believe it has 18, 20, 22 mm links in the box. But the exact mechanics of the process I'm unsure about.

It's a pricey bit of kit (€300 or so) which is too much for the novelty of it. Unless I'm convinced by a poster here to get one, I'll wait. Like @Dsloan says, perhaps when they come out with a thinner model.

Clever. I like the concept, a lot, but like previous posters will probably wait for a slimmer version. Potentially gives you the best of both worlds; a Speedy and smartwatch on the same wrist. Link the past to the present, always a good idea IMO.

Zowie, that really kicks it out the door!
The most innovative bit of kit I have seen in the last 20 years.
It goes without saying that I want one, the only thing they need to work on is the e payment aspect to reflect local and international pos terminals and of course getting the app entirely in English or multilingual.
