路This was a birthday gift from my wife a couple of years ago and was my first real vintage watch. Definitely sub $1000 then, and I think now as well. Unfortunately it doesn't get much wrist time, but it has a special significance for me obviously..

And why not get a vintage (1969) chronometer grade day-date Citizen for less than a mass produced Longines? 馃槈
On Seamasters - I bought these two under 500 USD in 2015. The chronometer got a new case eventually but still under 1000. Both under 1000 including service. There are a lot of nice watches out there sub 1000.

路Thank you, Neil! What catches my eye is the pleasing roundedness of these two watches. Not sure how to explain it--they just really work for me--all smooth lines and nice curves. And these can really be found for less than $1000?

Watches 2 , 3 & 4 were all Sold by me on here for 拢325 GBP , 拢725 GBP (which included a 拢350 STS Service , 2yr Guarantee , Omega Box and a NOS Sharkskin strap too ! ) & 拢200 GBP....so all sub $1k USD 馃榾

But did have a 7077 BCT and a full STS service....probably accepted some daft offer on it too
