There is a fair amount of info out there on these watches but some brief background: These were given to Iranian military officers by the Shah of Iran in the 1970s. But they were only manufactured in 1970. It’s based on the 7005-8050. Approximate dimensions: Width: 38mm (39 with crown) Lug to Lug: 44mm Lug Width: 18mm Height: 10mm Bezel Insert: 30/37mm Borrowed from thewatchsite.com: The SEIKO lettering on the 8140 has been moved to the left side of the dial near the 9 o'clock position. In the center the dial is imprinted with the Iranian royal crest and Farsi script which reads "Arteshe Shahanshahiye Iran", meaning “Iran's Royal Army”. The caseback is engraved, "Amvale Dolati" which means ”State Property”. There has been a resurgence in popularity for these watches and as such a lot of fakes. I did my own research before I bought it and believe this to be totally authentic. I believe the seconds hand has been replaced as the test with the flashlight shows that it’s the only hand that glows after 5 seconds. Watch comes on a leather Hodinkee NATO and what you see is what you get. I have plenty of references on multiple sites for buying/selling/trading and I’m happy to share. I’m will to accept PayPal from buyers with references. Watch is currently in Dubai and I welcome FTF. Also willing to ship wherever and could arrange shipping from US for interested buyers. The watch price is $2000 thanks!
