In my younger Rugby days I got 9 weeks for throwing a chair at a touch judge.
After my rugby playing days I used to go along on Saturday afternoons to watch and have a couple of pints 😉

One day the club was short a touch judge and I was asked if I would stand in. After a while I was getting puzzled looks from the players and the ref finally came over and said I'd been giving the touch-line decisions to the wrong side. Turned out rules had been changed since I last played and the direction to indicate was reversed. No comments at any volume though 👍

I don't think it has been quoted yet but it it has been said soccer is a game for gentlemen played by hooligans and rugby is a game for hooligans played by gentlemen.

Seems I’ve poked the nest a bit. Getting a lot of inquiries, please forward this etc. sounds like that coach and team are in trouble. Never occurred to me but the coach and parents coming on the field during a game is a big deal.
It can be strange, at first, where an organisation draws the line.
Words are open to interpretation, but walking onto a field either happened or not.

I was captaining a tennis team a few years ago. No umpires. An opponent was behaving like an agro weirdo, hitting the fencing with his racquet, muttering, questioning my team in an angry fashion. No physical contact.
After the match, I spent a few days wondering whether to complain to the club. A team mate complained to me, which prompted me to act.
After hearing my story, the club captain asked one question,"Did he shake hands at the end of each match?"
