Someone just posted this on WUS

I don’t want to post the Imgur link contents but if you follow that Imgur url you’ll find official paperwork and tracking information for delivery on consignment.

Seems like all the watch channels on YouTube are speculating about this. The only one I’ve seen with any evidence to support the speculations is Austin from the Watch Symposium.

Someone sent him a copy of a civil lawsuit against Anthony Farrer of Dallas for $100k. It’s from a creditor that was never paid. The hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday. Now, just because a lawsuit is filed doesn’t mean their is any credible evidence to support it, but it isn’t looking good in terms of their business practices.

So my read is they started using consignment sales money to pay off things other than the owners of the watch. This unfortunately happens all too much in automotive consignment, where they can keep it going for a fairly long time by "floating" the registration where the buyer never gets registration and no one knows the original owner never got paid.

I think the top guys knew this and bailed (one is a convicted felon already) the other guys got a lawyer who told them to shut the F up, delete all social media and say nothing, as anything they say can accidentally implicate them in the inevitable legal and criminal shitstorm that will follow.

No one would pick these guys up for a reality TV series, they did not have enough views on youtube, and no real marketable catch. If they did they would already have a big name producer attached (Just like how Tiger King started.) This is not a marketing ploy, no sane person sees any upside in this being a marketing ploy. You don't stage a massive failure in trust in an industry where trust is your main selling point.

Yep. The probabilities are minuscule for them to land a TV Series (even less so now). Watches are a very niche thing, and TV producers receive many more (if not hundreds) offers in more "popular" subjects.

Probably a bit of everything really, they tried to hype their brand with fake it till you make spending it to build a YouTube audience that never materialized, invested in a lot of high dollar pieces that didn't pan out (i.e. John Mayer Daytonas), likely took the $2,000 micro-investments to kick the can a-la-ponzi and probably lost some on crypto. Seems like the music stopped sooner than they expected...

The notion that there's a good outcome for those with watches on consignment is fanciful, at best. The notion that there's a good outcome for TPG is delusional, at best.

I haven't for one second bought the wishful thinking that this is some "masterclass-level PR stunt/prank" because it's so obviously a terrible move to make after a nanosecond of consideration. Yes, watch YouTubers are all talking about these guys, but now I'm just waiting for the booking shots and perp-walk vids so we can close this chapter with a collective "WTF were you even thinking??"

Their YouTube content was a guilty pleasure, I must admit. I'll hand it to them, they certainly had a talent for grinding out junk food watch content. And if Anthony's story could've been real, there'd be a lot to celebrate about a young guy turning his life around so dramatically.

Why is always watch channels 😁

I'm much more surprised to find that anyone would watch this sort of shit, than I am to find out that another shitty grey market dealer is a tool.

This man’s haircut is something else. I can only imagine he saw a British barrister’s wig and asked his hairdresser to make that happen. I can’t even pay attention to what he’s saying due to those locks.

If the consigned watches don't reappear soon, there will be hell toupee.
Surely the serials and whatnot must be known, I’m not sure what the legal status is of consigned watches if the company goes belly up but its a bit scary to say the least
