So... any of our members here have an interest in firearms?

That rifle is practically a little work of art

There really is quite a following on these old ones...the new models are refinements on this 50yr old design...with current price about $4500US. I'm surprised they didn't at least google this one, but I've learned in life sometimes things just work out in your favor.

Astonishing! I often marveled in my shop at the total lack of interest the "Tacticool" crowd had in fine or historic firearms!
One place I always look for making quick money is the junk holster box on the floor of every gunshop....Scored an Arvo Ojala dual basket weave metal lined quick draw rig in a little shop outside L.A. for 40 bucks!
Wish I knew who it belonged to, but I sold it online for a bunch.
Thats a hell of a deal and a hell of a rig you got there, congrats!

A reminder that when you come home from the range and think "aw heck i'm gonna clean these later", and then you forget and they get put back on the rack a couple days later. This is what happens after 3 yrs from not cleaning after a range day.

Thankfully, a bit of cleaner, a sharp blade, and a stiff brush finally got it, but there are some pits remaining. Won't hurt anything but could have been a whole lot worse.

Last pic fully assembled again.

I have been shooting black powder since I was a kid and have a different perspective on cleaning than the average shooter does. This makes most guys I shoot with think I am some kind of freak as I clean my guns religiously as soon as I get home.

Why not just stick to watches and leave the guns to the police and the army where they belong.

And citizens. That's the difference between democracy and dictatorship.

10-4 on that "I'll clean later" methodology

After shooting some corrosive ammo out of the AK and letting it sit for a couple weeks it was a rusted deal. Hoppes #9 and solvent made nice and shiny new though.

Maybe I'll bust out the arsenal this weekend for a family picture.

Nice collection Snake Doctor. The WWII stuff is pretty nice and your Russian collection is fairly impressive.

Every time I see a Dragunov, I hear a voice in my head.....the voice of Ivan Drago from Rocky IV...."If he dies, he dies."

The trigger is not especially bad once you get accustomed to.

What I really like about it is its compacity, ergonomics and balance... It's a really nice piece of enginering.

The Dragunov is a really interesting piece of equipment and its purpose in the soviet army was way ahead of its time.

All the system was made to be very pragmatic and polyvalent.

Nothing is bad once you get used to it Haha Judging by your collection you have to agree, that in general, that's a terrible trigger..... Its been about 4 years since I sold mine so maybe someone, somewhere, came up with a solution or a drop in replacement since.

$350 w/accessories (2 slings +2 alternate adjustable buttplates + match ammo, plus hard case). Yes this was at a real gun shop. Shop sells tactical equip and such(ARs, HK, Glock etc), had no idea what this was, or cared. Said it had been there for months. I had to wipe dust off it.
