I am lucky to own land where I can stretch out my shots to at least 1k+ yards

At the moment I can only dream of having my own 1000yds to play with....that's awesome.

I'm excited to get my hands on the "new" colt python to see if it stacks up to its namesake
Very true , I hope they hold true to the previous models

It’s pretty nice having a private range I hate dealing with public ranges and the safety concerns who are typically there.

So, for my son's 22nd birthday next week, I got him some mods for his Sig P365 that I bought for him for his 21st birthday last year - he really wanted a Sig Lima365 Green Laser and a manual safety -> Tadah!

He also got some 15 round magazines so that he can reload less at the shooting range - we both prefer the 10 and 12 round mags though.

Just call me Sonny!
Ran across this at my LGS and being the S&W 3rd gen lover I am couldn't resist, especially with all the extras it came with. Old school 4506 with the coveted adjustable sights .45acp. Not in perfect shape, but pretty near. Came with the DeSantis Holster, 4 mags, OEM plastic grips still unopened and KSD palm swell grips. I'll probably beef the springs up to the .45 super I've always wanted, why waste the weight? $535.00 OTD.

It won't and can't. Those Smiths are long gone and they can't afford to put that level of attention into the gun works today anyway in a production gun. Colt won't and can't even work on any of the old Pythons today too because they don't have the Smiths that have that level of skill anymore either. By gone era for sure. JMO of course.

Beautiful carry gun. I have a few that I rotate for concealed carry but that’s sig is awesome. Add in all those accessories and you are set ! One heck of a birthday present

I agree with you. I hate to say when it comes to wheel guns they just don’t make them like they used to. The tooling and more importantly the smiths aren’t there any more. Don’t think it will be like the pythons of former years

5 shot 5 inch group at 1000. I was, as well as others, gobsmacked. Then he casually said he had over a 1000rds through it and never cleaned it.

Old time match shooters never cleaned the bore during the match season. They had found that more damage was done in cleaning away metal fouling than in shooting the rifle dirty and the zero was far less likely to change.
Since they used corrosive primers almost exclusively back then it meant rebarreling the rifles at least once a year.

Around here if you want more than 300 yards to a target it would mean shooting between mountainsides or down the median strip of the interstate.

Long range shooting has always been an expensive hobby. But well worth the challenge.those old school shooters deserve more credit than they get that’s for sure.

Nighthawk Custom bought the remaining series 70 colt SKU pistols with this roll mark. I had to have one. Mini beavertail and mini hammer, gold bead, etc. Finish is smoked nitride. I love this retro build. Solid shooter too.

And for something in a smaller caliber and vaguely related to Omega - my Walther PPK-L dural in .32. I carry it occasionally in an ankle holster and I carried it for a while on the job (never alone, though.) The original "lightweight" gun.

Hey! You need to return that malfunctioning pistol, look at that big ragged hole its making!

Very nice. I too have a fondness for Walthers. However, the PPK is still on my bucket list. I'm keeping an eye for at least an 85% condition or better, but I may have to compromise.

That Bersa gets rave reviews, I'd pick one up at the right price and condition.

Hey Wryfox. That's an Astra rather than a Star isn't it? The Constable. Had one in .32 ACP years ago. Was a nice pistol. Bought it new-in-the-box for under $90 so that'll tell you how long ago it was. Wish I'd kept it, just 'cause. Could have reminded me of my youth. Traded away toward some now unremembered "deal."

I'm a bit of a fan of both Astra and Star though I've not had wide experience with either of them. Didn't develop a warm cozy feeling for the Llama. Personal perception held that the brand was less finely made and of lower quality steels.
