Not sure what I would change from the standard offering to be honest. Medium size is spot on too. Maybe a deployant clasp instead of the buckle? Their custom strap form is a little bit complex!

There's a contact email on their site; reach out to them directly. They'll send photos of the actual shades of fabric and other options.

I really don't want an Omega clasp on a Tudor,
oh yeah, I forgot this was going on a tudor haha. While back I wanted a clasp for a rolex day date and considered using an omega clasp but have my local jeweler remove the omega logo and refinish it haha. I haven't found a more quality folding clasp than omega but I definitely understand not wanting to mix brands, I don't do that myself. I never did mod the clasp if you were wondering, so I have no input on how it would come out.

Though for what it's worth, Tudor's clasp is truly excellent. I bought my Black Bay GMT on strap since I intended to wear it on a regular NATO most of the time, and was surprised by how much I liked it. Might be worth buying one of those, and having JR customize the strap for it.

I've tried the deployant on the BB58. It's not so much a problem with the clasp itself, but more the fact that it works the wrong way round with the tail of the strap sticking up at the front of the watch.

The Omega straps are made of Cordura, which is a brand name of woven nylon. It's not exactly the same as sailcloth, but does look similar from a distance. A lot of so-called "sailcloth" is probably Cordura.

I was on a similar journey to you a few months ago. I always liked the look of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms sailcloth strap and wanted something similar on my Seamaster 300. I tried several examples, including those from Barton bands and WatchGecko. But they all had one major problem, IMO.

There is very little padding at the end that attaches to the watch. On a dress watch, this is ok. But it makes the strap look a little anemic on a dive watch (like your BB58). After spending ~$120 on different cheap straps and not getting what I wanted, I finally bought the Dark Side of the Moon Speedmaster strap. Notice how thick it is between the lugs. It almost fills the entire gap and at some angles looks like it is a fitted end. I think this type of strap would look better on your BB58 than the thinner ones you find online.

You might save yourself money just buying the Omega strap you are trying to emulate if you eventually get it. That TAG strap actually looks just as nice and would probably be cheaper.

Good hunting.

This looks great, what size wrist are you? I used to have an Omega cordura on a deployant, but I was on the last hole and it was still somewhat loose. 👎

It's true it's a bit weird, but I find the function to be so pleasant it didn't take anything away from it for me.

I'm sure it works for some people but I absolutely hated it!

By way of update, I've emailed JR about the Cordura on deployant and asked for a better idea of the colouring. Their website doesn't have great pictures.

Meanwhile, during my searches on this, I've discovered a JPM blue suede which looks rather nice and will work with the BB58... 😀

My wrist is 6.75”. It is in the second to the last hole, but but I punched a hole between the second and third slot and sometimes have to move it there when my wrist swells. I think this is also offered is a smaller size, but you would have to order through an AD.

Seiko deployants work the same way. I thought it felt wrong at first, but then realized they actually are easier to close and manipulate that way.

Yeah, they also have far more options than what you see on the site... I could probably dig a photo out of my email somewhere, let me see if I can get it later today.

Took a look, and I forgot I'd only asked them for the shades of green they had (there are 4) - but having witnessed their samples in person, I can tell you there are a lot of colors. So if you're looking for something blue, just ask them to show you the blue shades they have, then go from there. And then of course, the color options for the rubber buckle strip, shown at right in the photo below:

I need to go to NYC and pay them visit. I went to NYC in mid March right when Covid was hitting and they already shut down.

Yeah, these days it's either by appointment or only a couple people in stores at a time. Fortunately New York has come through the first wave, and being careful should get us through the second. It'll just take a couple weeks for places to figure out how to safely do business without nice weather outside.

Not a blue strap per se but I’ve had it on my list to try these sailcloth straps from www.bandrbands.com. Not terribly expensive. Barry and Ron are great guys too.

Thought I would update this thread. So I ordered two straps - the Watchbandit sailcloth and also a blue suede strap from JPM. Both are about right in terms of quality for price. Overall, I'm pleased with the quality of the Watchbandit strap, although as per earlier comments, I do wish it was a bit thicker at the lugs. I did try contacting JR about one of their straps, but they never responded to me. Thanks to all those who left suggestions/comments.

I think they haven't quite adjusted to the pandemic as well - they're definitely one of those old-school ateliers focused on the product but sometimes responsiveness can suffer. I think I had to ping them again for my most recent strap as well.

Really like this kind of strap! Any idea where I can find it in 18mm for a 3511.80?? 😀

Shortly after the snoopy was released I realized how much I would like the strap on my bb58 blue. I liked the snoopy strap so much more than the stock "soft touch" tudor option. In my research I came across this thread.

This arrived today! Can't wait to get it on the bb58. I will wear it with a pin buckle while I wait for the tudor deployant clasp I have on order to arrive.

Great stuff. How much was it? And can you post a pic once you've got it on the BB58?
