The replacement dial looks better to the naked eye as the other outlines are slightly thicker

I agree, it's very subtle but that slight lack of texture does make a difference visually.

Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

Hope it's quick. 👍

I'm probably not going to get a call from Omega Boutique for a snoopy watch. But if I were to get one, I think I would buy as a supplement the shoot for the moon, Snoopy! or the Snoopy, first beagle in space books from the Nasa store.

The Snoopy disc is a separate piece, but on this example the circumference shows an indistinct and bleeding line, so not sure what is going on there. It almost looks like it is a printed dial. Haven't seen that before on any example.

Long term this will all blow over and I don't think values will be affected greatly on the secondary market, it all comes down as to what an owner thinks is acceptable for his watch. There are differences and some do look better than others.

I find the stars are better defined in the “buttons” version. The font is semi bold over bold and Snoopy’s feet have a different look to them due to the missing line that is quite distinct now to me when looking at other snoopies.

Appreciate you have replaced your dial but keen to keep mine as is personally as I find it cool 😎
Doubt I will ever sell mine too so not too bothered re: price / Omega discontinuing the model etc.
What’s interesting to me is that mine DOES have a zipper line, but you need the loupe or a jeweler’s visor to see it.

Predictions on whether this dial quality control error will fetch a premium for collectors in the future? Collectors obsess over serifs on fonts, so for some entire details missing.....
I understand that some people care about this, but I think (especially while we can’t know whether this defect will become desirable for collectors) that you should just settle on the dial you like more aesthetically. And if you don’t particularly care, then just keep whichever dial you have.

If you have a thin line/missing details Snoopy, and you don’t like it as much as the original stamp, then I see absolutely no point in settling for it purely on the off chance that it’ll fetch a small premium later. Get the dial you’ll enjoy looking at when you wear the watch.

Surprisingly I just got the message to pick up the Snoopy today.

Before dropping it off at OB 15 Jul:

After pick up just now 26 Jul:

So it took 11 days for the dial replacement.
Anyway hope others find this useful!
What a quick turnaround - I am sure just the dial was replaced (and your case and everything else stayed the same), right?

Anyone taking a bet that they were fixed with a paintbrush?

It's a new dial, the lettering is bolder on the new dial. Take a look at the 'TH' in 50th, on the old dial it is separated, on the new dial the 'TH' is not separated. No paintbrush work will adequately bring out the lines that have been milled away.

Yes just the dial was replaced, everything else remained the same.
At the time of drop off, the OB mentioned they would order in just the dial so I guess was lucky getting it in with the next shipment.

Thanks everyone for flagging this! I just collected my Snoopy hours ago from the Singapore boutique and noticed the same issues. I did flag it to the SA who was unaware of this problem. She checked my watch against the display Snoopy which was had been placed in the store’s display cabinet some years ago and acknowledged that the zipper line is missing from mine.

She said there’s a chance Omega won’t fix it under a warranty because this may be considered an acceptable deviation. Nonetheless I’m tempted to raise a warranty claim because I don’t quite like the deviation. What do y'all reckon when looking at my dial?

You should ask for it to be replaced if you want the zippers. They’ll oblige. The SA expressed doubts that they would, but that’s normal considering she isn’t informed about the issue or Omega’s policy.

Catching back up on this thread. I'm glad Omega is doing exactly what we all figured they would, change the dial if you request it to keep customers happy. IMO, PR win.

So what I find strange is where do the "correct" dials all of a sudden come from, did they already have them and chose not to put them in the production units, i.e. where they already aware of the error and had them produced to solve any claims quickly?

Likely: There is enough production variation, that they have a ton of these dials made ready to be put into watches, and just pull them out of their supply. They just pull out the ones that 'look most right' from their current collection.

Why they didn't put them into production units: It could very well be "we have 500 boxes of these dials, open 1 box and use them", and didn't consider the variation to be incorrect/failure of QA/QC. So there was no reason NOT to install them.
