Smudged face lettering?

I would welcome opinion of this 1966 Seamaster. Other than the highly polished case and buckle it seems original. My only question though is the the "M" of Automatic looks smudged. Or is this a reflection. If it is smudged is this patina due to age or walk away?

Seems to be on the dial: No matter what angle you look at it it stays on its position

Nasty scratches on the dial also

and the asking price more than 2 times higher than the market value
