Magnificent dial, well worth the effort to get it working again. Maybe a replacement part can be found later on and the watch restored to original specs.

Here are a couple of my Helvetias.

28mm, both from 1937, first stainless steel, second chrome plated. The black dial has a serial number about 10,000 before the white dial. Almost all the German market watches like this are in a more modern style and often with a black dial whereas the others are more 'old fashioned'. Both fitted with patent 'waterproof' crystal, spring loaded 'floating' movement and Helvetia shock protection, see here for details - https://www.helvetiahistory.co.uk/1930s-sports-watches

This one finally came back with a new (mineral) crystal. The profile is much flatter and does not distort the dial pattern.
Dial is quite patinated, but the cost was very limited as the seller did not want international sales.

Here is another Helvetia of mine. Very similar design to the Mido. 30mm, 1938, shock protected but no floating movement in this one.

Back from service. Looks quite intense in evening light. Below also the “before pics”, thanks again to @Tony C. for his eagle eye.

I’m not sure how I ever missed this thread, but it’s pretty awesome.. thanks to @tyrantlizardrex

Here’s a nice handful of radiation 😲...

The Sturmanski (cosmonaut watch, 5th from left) is easily the most radioactive, followed by the Enicar ‘Healthways’ 😁 diver.

I wonder how long it needs to sit in that position to burn the dial that way!
