SM300 date or no date? 165.024 vs 166.024

Greetings!

Recently I'm looking for a big triangle vintage seamaster 300. And I noticed that the no date version(165.024) seems to have higher market value than the date version(166.024). Is is true?

I also saw this watch from a Japanese dealer, everything looks good to me and the condition to me is very very good, but it seems with that price I can even get a no date version which I actually prefer. Could you please help to give any suggestion on the originality of the watch as well as the current market value?

Best regards,
Rick
According to https://www.omegaseamaster300.com/, the minute markers of this bezel should not have tritium lume, but I notice there are some random lume under some of the minute markers. What do you think?

Watch looks ok to me other than crystal and think bracelet covered in this thread already. You could ask for a lume shot if worried about it. As minute markers shouldn’t have lume in it.

It’s not a bargain so my advice would be to wait for the no-date version that you prefer. When I have made compromises like that, I’ve usually been unhappy in the long run. Wishing that I had my preferred watch.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I'll wait for the no date BT version.

Understood; however, it’s not necessary to do so on the other sites. On the other forums in which I participate, those forums’ search functions display the results so there’s no need to search outside of the site.
Ash has acknowledged this a number of times and stated a new update is being designed.

I always figured it was just operator error. Are you suggesting it wasn’t my fault after all? 😉

Finally I pulled the trigger because I really like its condition... I don't mind owning 2 BTs, one with date and one without. Now it's time to hunt a 165.024 BT!

Looking at acquiring preferably a date version SM300, Watchco or built from OEM parts the same in my mind. What would be reasonable pricing right now? I could also build one myself from parts (have a spare caliber 565 complete movement laying around) but what seems to be hardest to get is the full case set ( 055ST1660324 )

At this point, loose service cases are unobtanium.
