Been offered a straight swap between my Silver Snoopy and a brand new SS Daytona. Economically well worth it, but the Snoopy is such an amazing piece! Thoughts?

Why did you buy the Snoopy? If you love it, keep it, you will probably regret flipping it. Otherwise swap it.😀

I do love d Snoopy, but if i swap, it's essentially paying 7000$ for a Daytona.

Only if you think the current value of the Snoopy is the MSRP

The offer just shows how valuable the Snoopy can be. Keep it.

Hi @mavkjay

I hope you're just fooling around with Us.... like the Stupid Clown i am... in the Omega forum but this is Dead Serious......!
I wouldnt trade Silver Snoopy for anything else in the world. If the straight swap situation were to be reversed ...meaning you wanted the Silver Snoopy & offered him new Daytona , i can tell you with 100% certainty he would just tell you to......
F#₩☆ O¥¥.. !!!

That's GOD'S GIFT to You @mavkjay !

DO NOT BE GREEDY....

This is an extremely personal decision and I think it really depends on how much the OP likes / is emotionally attached to either watch.

I personally do not like Daytonas...although that could be because I am Formula 1 fanatic and I have never warmed to US motor sports😀 Actually I don´t like the Daytona dial too much, but I do admire the calibre inside.

I was offered first hand the Snoopy by the Omega Boutique in Brazil, but I turned it down...I was also never a big Snoopy/Charlie Brown fan😀

So if I had "Invested" in a Snoopy I would indeed swap it for a Daytona and then swap the Daytona for something else...perhaps a Blancpain or JLC. Cheers

The extremely common Daytona is unlikely to be regarded in 10 years time as the rather rare and desirable Snoopy.
From a long term financial view it is not a debate.
But if you want a Daytona, you want a Daytona.
Probably wont after you have it, but that's life (With new Rolex).

Rolex are like Mercedes or Diamonds. There is no shortage.

The other thing to remember is that the value today of the Snoopy is much higher than the MRSP.
Why not buy the Daytona with Cash?
(And I think the answer we all shout out is: Because you will loose money!)

Thanks for all d feedbacks. Great to see various side of the equation.

A question I have to the seasoned professionals here..anyone rmb the MSRP for the previous Snoopy and how did the value varied till now?

Forgive me as I was still a small boy then=)

There was a NIB Silver Snoopy in the sales forum. Seller was asking 20K. Limited run, instance appreciation in value. Even used, prices I have seen around having been in the 15k range. Love the look of the Dayton, but look them up on for sales fora, they are everywhere with various prices. Than look for a Silver Snoppy, see what I mean? And if nothing else, listen to what Spacefruit is saying. You will loose money and regret it later.

P.S. If the OP is willing to part with a like new Silver Snoopy for 7k, I would be most agreeable to raid my son's college fund to buy it.

$15K-$20K for snoopy are asking prices. I wonder what they actually sell at though. I think if you paid $20K for the silver snoopy, you just might lose a few bucks too.

Anyway, between the two, I'd stick with the snoopy for all the good reasons already listed.,

I purchased my Snoopy for 7k USD from Omega.

I think the going rate is around 12k or so for private sellers or eBay. Davidsw sold his for 14.5k. Haven't seen anything lower than 10k.. I would keep snoopy, it's limited whereas a Daytona can be had easily if op has the funds in the future

As you were lucky enough to get one at MSRP, you did great. Look around here, many were not able to buy one due to the limited run. But also, because of this, demand has increased. Instantly 10k after initial purchase was an easy bet. Look up Silver Snoopies on EBAY. General asking price is 12k-15k. And yes, someone will pay. As investor interest increases, many of out favorites will be put out of reach for the average guy, shades of early Speedmasters. Even at 7k, I could afford it, but it would cause a reallocation of our investments and available funds. There was a time we were about to start to spend some expandable funds and than at 45 years of age, our son was born. New priorities appeared. But this would be a rather easy flip for an additional 3-5k.

I have never warmed to US motor sports😀

I believe the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona was named for the 24 Hours of Daytona sportscar race (hence the race's longtime official name, the Rolex 24 at Daytona), rather than NASCAR... In the 1960s, it was the center of the battle between Ferrari and Ford; it continues to be a most awesome event 😉

Like most have said, keep the Snoopy. Nothing special about the Daytona, and there are plenty to be had..

Interesting 1 for 1 offer.

Did you only get 14 seconds to decide?
