I have a friend who just a few weeks ago wanted to sell his. I suggested he go for 14/16 g

I just had dinner with him last night and told him.... there may be a bubble because look what’s happening!!

Never in a million years would I have thought that it would be selling at that price.!

2012 - 1970 = 42

Only 42 less made than the Speedy Tuesday LE and this one fetches FAR more than the #STLE. I'm curious why it's such a wide spread like that!

So who wanted to pay £1500 for an Alaska project 18months ago, Hardly anyone. But I bet you would now! I would rather walk around with my cartoon character watch than a red doughnut on my wrist. Let's see what happens to the price of both of the snoopy's when they announce a third in 2 years time 😉::psy::::psy::::psy::

I call bullshit on this. Maybe 4-5 years ago but 18 months? Err no.

A couple sold for silly money at auction... lots of dealers bumped their prices to match.
To me this is exactly the problem with the recent inflated asking prices on this forum (and others). Some people dismiss it, saying (1) sellers can ask whatever they want; (2) the watches will just sit there forever; etc. The problem is that there's always some watch noob with more money than sense who will actually pay an absurd price for something, and that price becomes the new standard because somebody paid it.

That's called the market isn't it?

This circles around to if the Private For Sale is meant for collectors to sell to other collectors, or has morphed into a watch sale web site that happens to be tethered to OF.

Well the listings do show up in aggregators and in search results, so everyone's gonna see them

We are only two years away from the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 13 flight. Just a guess, but I'm sure Omega will have another "limited edition" Snoopy/Apollo 13 watch to mark the anniversary then as well.

$28K is ridiculous for that watch, but it is simple supply and demand.

You can call whatever you like my friend! watchfinder had it in the sale and subsequently I had it in my hand but declined as it was to ugly for me, even though it was un worn. But thanks for lowering the tone, and your lack of knowledge in the pre owned market.

Watchfinder offered the AP at £1,500 18 months ago? Are you entirely sure?

Tbh, I think it was the January/February sale so it was more like 2 years and 4 months but yes, 100% and like us all, if I knew then what I know now ::facepalm1::.
But I was only talking about it when I picked up a piece last month from there with the same guy and he also remembers. Just goes to show, none of us are real experts in predictions 🙄. The same is to be said with The a Eyes On The Stars, AD's offered them at discount and couldn't sell them. Lesson learnt, hold on to your ST,

The law of supply and demand plus we have a
new generation of guys finding vintage kool and sort of elite.
The "ME" or Xand Y generation are coming for your watches.
These are the ones not wearing an Apple.
In twenty years time there is another problem kids in UK schools can't tell the time on an analogue watch !
UK schools are replacing the analogue clocks to digital for this reason.
Maybe that is natural selection and they would never aspire to a vintage masterpiece anyway BUT it is a concern if it becomes commonplace. Your multi 100K collection is deemed worthless by hordes of +20 year future day hipsters.
Sell , sell .
To me !

Prices on this one are incredible.
I used to find it pricey when placed at 10k. Big mistake.
Might it drop again to these levels, who knows?

I wonder.
Is it pulling the other LE in its rise?
I think it's very much different from the other LE's. I believe the demand for Snoopy is larger because even those who are not into watches might be lured in, due to the Snoopy icon. I know some people who hasn't been into watches before, but bought Snoopy at premium because they like collecting the character.
However, I think Mitsukoshi LE, for its rarity, might have prices roaming around Silver Snoopy's.

I don't think I've ever saw them at 4-5K. The 2003 Snoopy, yes. But the 2015 one immediately went above retail.
