Silver Snoopy and secondary market. Are they really selling for 28K?

I didn’t see the 28k one, but I still see them moving for 20-22k from trusted sellers. 17 seems like a pretty good price in this market.

I see the appeal of the Snoopy. It's a critical point in a mission, etc., and also if someone asks about your watch and you don't want to talk about it you can just say it's a Snoopy watch and let them think it cost $20 at Target.

But for me personally I don't see the $20,000 worth of appeal.

My friend (who sold me my NIB stickered POLMLE a couple years back) was getting a divorce last year, and offered me his Snoopy for $10,500 which is what DavidSW was offering for it. I passed on it. Doh!

Asking and selling are different things....

It's around 18k USD.....
Thank you. That’s what I’m gathering on my end as well. 16 to 18. Which is not bad at all considering a month ago it was 12 to 15.

I guess that’s what the bubble did for it.

Wonder how the 5th will affect it.

The last 4-5 that sold on the forums (mine included) were all between 17,500 - 20,000. I can't comment on what has changed hands privately, but have not seen one below 17k in months. It's been almost 9-12 months since I've seen the 15 range and a year ++ since anything even close to 12.
And the last 4-5 I mentioned all sold within a day to a week so I think the market for the Snoopy is quite healthy.
If history has shown us anything, I think re-editions/anniversaries, etc only draw more attention to earlier editions, so I would think unless its an exact copy there would be nothing to worry about.
I love the watch, personally. Been on the hunt to find another since I sold my last and have found it difficult to find anything reasonable.

For the those that have been in the watch world for awhile, were there a lot of price bubbles and major speculating going on in the past? Or is this a relatively new thing?

It happens now and then, Like with Panerai or each a Bond movie comes out or when Hoodinky decides to tell the world what they have to do to be relevant. etc. This little spike with the Snoopy caught everyone by surprise.

Yeah change the color add a little bit of hype and a sprinkle of limited edition then you have the best poison.
