Then the speedmaster will look like 34mm on my wrist then

Seems like you are the “go to” member if anyone needs extra 1171 links.

Bear in mind that the shape of your wrist changes as you rotate your fist. With the buckle centred with your arm in a relaxed position, it may no longer be centred once you twist your arm.

Well for comparison here's a shot of my old Dad's early 1970's 1171/633. I'm pretty sure the clasp used to be roughly central, but not exactly central since it was adusted for me.

It's sitting in draw now... Speedmasterless.🙁

Hi OF

Firstly thanks for the selflessness sharing of knowledge by all the members here that I was able to learn a thing or two on vintage watches ( slow learner here) .

I got my birthyear speedmaster ( based on Ilovemyspeedmaster, not EOA), and I'm happy with the watch.

However I noticed something may be wrong with the bracelet. It is a 1171 with trapezoid logo and 633 end links.

When I wear the watch, I noticed the clasp is not center, I think pictures may explain it better.
Isn't the clasp suppose to be in the center as well?

Is there something wrong with the bracelet ? Or the links are not balanced between both sides of the bracelet?
Is it a minor issue or can it be fixed easily?

My apology for the silly question.

Thanks once again to all OF members .
It seems like you might want it to be slightly off center based on the curve of your wrist and having the curve of the bracelet hugging it.
