Seriously so many drool-worthy JLCs.
I have some a couple Memovoxes, and am currently selling my Reverso, and recently sold my limited edition 1958 Geophysic in RG.
Here’s what’s remaining:

The Polaris is Iconic, is that an original one or a tribute ?

Hi there community,
I'm considering buying this Memovox... I have the feeling that it's a redial, and that the hands have been replaced... What do you think?
I would very much appreciate your opinion!
cheers,
Giovanni

Hands are not original, replacement IMHO. Dial looks original to me on the outer, inner looks wrong to me. Should have applies triangle not painted.

Has anybody seen this Memovox World Time that's for sale?
We've all read the article on Hodinkee stating 99% of those are fake redials. How about this one?

I guess this when the JLC extract comes into play. The seller says it’s all original but I’d explain that I’m going to order an extract as well and if this doesn’t come back as world time then I want my money back. It’s not super cheap so if in doubt I’d probably pass.

476 Bumper
I've become quite obsessed by the Cal 476 ... there's just something about the architecture of the movement that is unlike a bumper (or full automatic) that is unlike those made by anyone else. Here's one I've had for a while and it's new brother:

That would be right - the Master Compressor line came out in 2002 (remember it well and it was a polarizing design at the time), and the first versions of this watch had "Memovox Automatique" on the dial, where the later versions just have "Memovox" on the dial. I can't say the exact transition date, but I bought mine back in 2007 and it just has Memovox on the dial...

They still had "Memovox Automatique" on the dial in 2005...at least that's what's showing in my catalogue from back then.

Good idea!
That shop is a 7 hour drive from where I live, so I might make a weekend out of it and go check it out. If the seller agrees to what you propose with the extract, I might be willing to take the leap.
(Not for the current asking price, mind you)

bought this memovox a few month ago.

Today I got this JLC buckle to complete the watch. It was listed as original but now I'm not sure.
The polishing is blury on each side of the logo.
On the back there is a crack and it looks as 2 parts where soldered together.

Anything to worry about?

For JLC fans, please note - they now offer an 8 year warranty:

https://press.jaeger-lecoultre.com/jaeger-lecoultre-launches-a-care-program-with-8-year-warranty/

Take that Rolex and Omega! 😉

And you can prolong the existing warranty to 8 years for all watches bought before 15.5.2019, if they are still covered by the warranty period.
I prolonged today in the morning (bought it on Saturday) the warranty of mine till 05.2027 😉
