I should know but don't. I heard all world times are US market LeCoultres with the manual wind caliber 911 with date. Maybe 910 no dates as well, but not sure. I always suspect all world times to be fakes but there have to be some real ones
I can't tell, no expert on the subject. However, unless you paid top dollar for it I wouldn't mind and just wear it, since it looks great
The problem is that I did pay top price for this so I can't ignore. My local watchmaker claimed it a fake and seller accepted a refund immediately without any complaints, I guess he already knew
Way back in 1973 my new wife gave me an Atmos clock for Christmas, it had been sitting in a small jeweler's store in Sturgis, SD for years. I think she paid about $110 for it. I just got it back from its latest overhaul a month ago, it still has the original bellows scratch marked May 1963 but it is still running strong, repairman says no need to replace the bellows at this point. Sometimes they last forever, and some go bad in a few years. About every 10-12 years it goes in for an overhaul.
I own these three beauties. The two vintages watches are recent acquisitions. I just cannot take the Memovox from the wrist. It is such a stunner with the "lazuli" dial.
Hi, I recently sold these two, but had a hard time finding some info. Rotating date disc, the pusher is integrated within the crown. Movement 810. Very, very nice examples.
Wow!!! Just discovered this thread and as a novice collector, I kind of wish I hadn't I'm still in that phase where I want to own every beautiful vintage watch I encounter and this is way too much temptation. I guess with a name this lyrical, you are duty bound to make beautiful watches. I do own one and will post a pic later.
What's more, watches still under warranty when this policy change went into effect have their warranties extended retroactively. Now I'm covered 'till 2025. Pretty cool.
Here is my mystery JLC Memovox. The few things I know about this watch is that it was made after 1995 based on the St. Bernard's stamp on the case. It uses a NOS 911 movement and NOS dial and hands (markers have faded somewhat). The 18k case is only 35mm but very substantial. Just the case alone without crystal or other components weighs 34 grams.
