Tried to get an artsy shot or two, but here is my newest baby on an Apollo 11 flat link. Near flawless in my opinion.

Thanks! I was looking at that bracelet and saw you bought it.

Mine is still in the shop being repaired. Hopefully I'll have mine back by end of the month.

What is it with new 3861s? Lots of people with broken ones. My new white one had to be repaired after a couple months because it only ran 8-12 hours on a wind.

It's natural for owner's whose 3861 has failed to come here to report it, but the many thousands that are ticking away to spec don't get a mention. I doubt the failure rate at this point is any worse than any other mass produced movement. They had a problem when they were first produced but they were taken care of a few years ago under warranty. Solid upgrade over the older 1861.

Yeah I think the reason why there's such a high perceived failure rate is because 2 reasons:
1. new movement
2. not as many out there compared to the 1861.

I'm sure after the 10 year mark, the failure rate of the 3861 will be basically 0. Mine failed at year 3 of ownership.

No failures here!

Love the flatlink. Got a 57 ordered. I will deal with the endlinks, I don't want anything aftermarket or modified.

This is the Apollo 11 50th flatlink and that requires 1.4mm thick springbars. The latest 57 flatlink bracelet is a perfect fit without any modifications needed. Only minor downside are the endlinks extruding the lugs a bit. I have it on my Ultraman.
