Thought I’d mix it up today to my NOS Omega SMF300 60M 198.054, still with purple gloop on the case back.

70s vibes, case has seen polishing, but not too bad for $300

Lovely watch 😀

Just set this IWC back to GMT, it had gained 52 seconds an impressive ¼ second a day.

My seamaster circa 1972 got it with the intention of an everyday watch but is taking the weekend place as I like too much to abuse it

Hummers, I got hummers. About two dozen including Accutron 214, Accutron 218, one Omega F300, and I will very soon have an Eterna with an “Eternasonic” F300 movement in it. This thread has been around since 2015, and I have never shown the watch that is probably my favourite “hummer”. This one is an Accutron 214. One owner (me). It will be 60 years old in 2024. Looks like new, runs like new.

Just acquired. On my wrist today. An early 1970s Eterna Sonic with the ESA movement (F300) used in Omega F 300s. Not quartz, but transistorized, battery, tuning fork. My first Eterna, and my first watch with a grey dial. Shown with the 7th for the date because it was photographed then.

My first hummer was my first Accutron 214 which I acquired, new, in 1964 (still have it). At one point I had 24 Accutrons, then I acquired an Omega F 300. Then recently, this Eterna came along. Same ESA 9162 F300 movement as Omega used. Meanwhile, the Accutrons and the Omega just sit. I like this one that much!

The last in , still some work on it but a good start
Nice one! Currently i’m kind of in negotiation for a possible defective one, but without the lobster bracelet. Hope to add it soon to the collection😀

Be careful to repair it, only 2 or 3 persons in the world can repair that movement and 1 of them still have Omega parts of course the others use Bulova parts , but expensive anyway take in count something around 500 US$ to ramp them up again to life

There is also an older watchmaker in Vienna who can repair them, did you count this guy in?

Thanks for the heads up Paul. Yes, I’m aware of the difficulties and also regarding the price👍

Took a punt on this f300 198.021 at a local auction before Xmas - love the 70s styling. However I was suspicious when I found no battery inside, I popped in a new Renata 344 but nothing doing 🙁. I read stories about Rob B in Thailand doing great work on these, but cannot find any way of contacting him (if he still services these). Who still looks after these in 2024?

John Johnson does a great job on Accutrons, I believe he does f300's as well.
