This is my collection of different F300 . Like to add a blue or dark dial seamaster chronometer or something to the collection someday . A dark horse has nestle it's way in to the pack . DSC04081.JPG

    Why does your watch hum?

Because it doesn't know the words!

Some of these have fantastic dials, like Stewart's, but just can't warm up to these hummer movements.:cautious:

    No prejudice!
I love the f300! Let's be honest and say Mosaba. Movement sans balance.
I would never swap my other watches with only f300s, but then again I feel a collection of important watches is not complete without a few.

Proberbly one of the coils . They are pretty easy to understand what is broken . It's harder to repair yourself .

Been looking for an omega "cone" f300 with a white face for a while now, I have found a few but some of the prices are silly for this model. Almost bagged a nice one last week, but was pipped to the post. Some nice examples here, enjoy

As I scrolled through the photos and was reminded of the many brand names that used tuning fork movements, I wondered if anyone was going to show a Universal Geneva. And lo and behold, there was one! With such a gathering of "hummer" aficionados gathered here, has anyone seen a Citizen tuning fork watch, or have one, or even simply know anything about them? I am told they exist.

I just Googled them, and they DO exist. Pictures shown are of Accutron 218 movements. Copies? Dunno!

Not a great picture, I know. But here is an Astronaut between two orchard run Accutrons to give you an idea of relative size. image.jpg

It's on the back. If you google Accutron 214 watches, you'll see some pics.

The set piece is countersunk into the back of the watch. It functions like the folding key in a cheap alarm clock. You catch a "lip" with a finger nail, swivel the key out to where you can get at it, set the time, then swivel it back into place. I think Bulova had two motivations for designing the original 214 model movement this way. It simplified the design of the movement, and having no visible crown on the edge of the case contributed to Bulova's promotion of the Accutron as being revolutionary.

My non humming one with a white face posted above is on the bay. It needs work though so my price may be silly ::screwloose:: I'd be wearing it if it was humming.
