Today’s post brought a much anticipated‘surprise’. (As in, I’m surprised they got here so quickly).
Three hummers are turned home after their Thai spa treatment at the Rob Berkavicius Home for elderly Hummers.
The f300 and the Longines needed new date wheels, as is common, and the Accutron 218 a good service and a new battery contact plate.
Very happy as always with Rob’s service and with the visual outcomes. Enjoy!

Definitely not yer typical “Ho-hum” hummer, this one! This one doesn’t have the original caseback on it, so I have to speculate on the vintage. The colour of the dial, and the ”fumed” motif tells me it is likely late 1960s or early 1970s. When the first owner saw this one in a showcase showing many contemporary Accutrons back in the day (50 years ago), what did he have in mind choosing such an off the wall style? The only one of this model I have ever seen. I wear it periodically, because it is “different”. Perhaps that is what appealed to the original owner. Accutron 218, day-date.

A guy on Instagram has a brushed SS case (coffin cased he called it). If it helps, his was made in 1971

Thanks for that. I was certain mine was not unique, but now I know for sure.

Definitely the only GP example so far though.

While the F300 Chronometer with gray dial and offset crown - the very first watch that I bought myself - got stolen and replaced by another brand, this has been with me for more than a decade:

Cheers
