@CajunTiger , @Canuck , please tell us about these wonders.
since when do you have them?
Origins ? history ?
...

😀

The ref 6262 was only made for one year, 1970. It is the least common of the vintage Daytonas, yet oddly the most affordable. Likely due to the fact that cosmetically there were no changes from the previous and more common ref 6239. When introduced in 1970, the ref 6262 received an upgraded caliber 727 movement, but otherwise no visual differences until the ref 6263 which added screw down pushers. This dial combination is not very common with less than 400 originally produced...even less are known with flat sub registers (vs concave) as seen on this example.

It was acquired from the wife of original owner who purchased it new in 1972 at Bucherer in Switzerland for 860 Swiss Francs or about $225 usd.

Likely due to the fact that they look identical to the earlier and more common ref 6239. Mine was acquired from the original owner who purchased it new in 1972 at Bucherer in Switzerland while on vacation for 860 Swiss Francs or about $225 usd.

To those with polished center link Daytonas - how do the bracelets hold up overtime scratch wise? They look awesome but worried about long term use of mine

Mine seem to be wearing nicely since it’s last service & polish last year. I do see light scratches on the PCL’s them selves but nothing extreme. I would prefer a Daytona to be without them given the choice but that would only leave one to go with a 1st Gen floating Cosmograph 16520 which would be a very nice down payment towards a house. Lol

Mine is fresh back from a service at Rolex so looking it's best right now, I know it won't stay that way and it doesn't bother me unduly, I am careful with this one though as it is the pride of my collection.

since when do you have this plexi ?
history ?

I bought it from a good friend in Florida last October and have been enjoying it since. Watch is from ‘66 and is all original, contains the ROW import stamp indicating USA delivery. It’s a lovely example for sure! I particularly like these ‘Big’ Daytonas because the three lines of text align to a pyramid shape.

My pair: a 116520 white dial K serial, and a 16520 black dial T serial.
May I ask you white ref do you prefer between the 5 and 6 digits ?

For me, 16520 over the 116520.
Technically the 116520 is superior to the 16520, but I like the aesthetics of the 16520.
116520:
(-) polished lugs
(+) bracelet clasp
(+) solid end links & luminova (although late run 16520 had these as well)
(+) 4130 in house movement with 72hr power reserve & vertical clutch
16520:
(+) slim hour markers more refined in my opinion
(+) centered subdials
(+) brushed lugs

I still regret being talked into selling my 16520. No plans to sell this one.

I like it on the Jubilee bracelet. Where did you source the bracelet -- is it from a GMT? How do the end links fit relative to the oyster bracelet?

Thanks!!

Hi

I sourced the 63600 (Datejust) Super Jubilee through my AD. The end links fit just fine. I prefer the sleeker enclosed clasp style bracelet. I am not sure the GMT bracelet ends with fit plus the newer larger clasps is what I am personally trying to avoid.
