Just wore this the other night. Thanks again @Tony C. for sending this my way!
That is really good! Been looking for this dial design for years now.

A few Alpina's from my collection. If you want to get more into the chronographs by Alpina I'm doing a lot of archiving and research on them which can be found on my page: www.vintage-view.com/blog/chronographs-by-alpina

Reviving an old thread, here's my current daily watch, at least until a Roamer Rotodate 44 is back from the watchmaker: a rather lovely 1963 Alpina President with an AS1701 inside that's ticking like it was barely a few years old.

The two late 50s Alpina Presidents with cal 584 do not get much (left) or any (right, currently at watchmaker) wrist time presently, even though I really like their 50s-going-into-60s style, although both unfortunately do not have an original signed crown.

Looking at prices of Alpina (and Roamer), they seem to be about as underappreciated as a brand as Omega and Rolex might be overappreciated; I for one do hope it stays that way.

I was checking the dial trying to find what needed to be fixed lol

Sometimes the obvious is not where the eyes go at first sight

The dial was the reason i pulled the trigger, ...despite the obvious problem 馃榿

I may have shared my lone Alpina here before, but maybe it鈥檚 time to share it again!

Under-appreciated brand , no doubt..

Watch arrived and its better then expected. Sure, Movement has rust and needs love, as needs the case. But on the pro side is the Dial and the Stainless steel case with 37mm! Love it!

But what's wrong? Not really obvious lol

This must be one of the nicest dials and cases of them all. Stunning, and somewhat hard to believe you wanted to sell it at some point (but you came to your senses, so all good 馃榾)

Have been wearing this Alpina De Luxe cal 592 in a classic Borgel/Taubert case for a few days now.

Is there an official history anywhere about these models? I'm wondering how De Luxe differentiated from Tropic Proof, and if they were contemporaneous with the Standard Line.
