If I can score a genuine stainless band is it worth it ?
Yes the 1610/930 is a great band, price on used market for one is currently about $300
What I have seen all over 800 USD
If anyone is selling one please let me know
Look on the sale forums (here, watchuseek, etc) as they come up for sale pretty often; below an example of one recently sold at $295:
This is what I need
I saw one - 98000085, supposedly OEM for £45? on a certain auction site.
Hmmmmm, reminds me of a Seamaster I had modified. I had a Planet Ocean Bezel and second hand fitted along with a relumed Seamaster 2230.50 dial.
I really like the second hand. I'm less sure about the bezel...it may grow on me though. Nice work anyway.
When I have serious work to do, I usually go with the CWC. It's fairly close in appearance to the 2254 and I won't feel as bad if it gets scarred.
I saw it too & was interested after I'd seen it on 2254's here & on TZ-UK. I asked in the Regent St OB for the original price & he quoted me £185 for the 98000037 (apparently the 98000085 won't fit the 2254 as it's designed for the Planet Ocean case shape) & another £185 for the deployant to go with it!
The 98000085 fits perfect it's the one Omega told me and that mine has
I've seen photos of the 98000085 on a 2254 & it looks fine to me. Would you mind posting a few close up pictures of the strap /case interface?
Thanks,
I will today
But it is an exact fit
I have an RN Diver Quartz & use it for activities where it may get scuffed. It's a really cool watch, well made, accurate & the dial is based on the RN Seamasters of the '60s & '70s. The case is apparently inspired by (copied from?) Heuer. All that plus a healthy dose of milwatch authenticity for £340 with a year still left on the warranty... Winner!
Edited to add - Yours needs an issue RN grey NATO strap, the ultimate combo!
