love this brand. Anyone know of better reference sites or sources than Gallet World?

Very nice, gentlemen! Some real gems.

My watchmaker has over 200 Gallets and he used to have a whole lot more. He sold all the crappy ones to me lolcow

I wish I really listened to him like 10 years ago when he told me to buy as many EP's as I could...

At least I listened to him a little...

Whats the thought on Gallets from a collector's perspective? I find them charming.

They confuse me as a collector. I love them but there is precious little documentation or info out there. Gallet World is of very limited value after a point. There does not seem to be a reference like Sala or Moon Watch or other brand books to refer to. This leads me to be happy with my one, and no more.

Ah, but that's what makes collecting them fun! Anyone can pick up a Zenith/Omega/UG/Rolex reference book and drool over page after page of perfectly-lit photographs. The hard work of cataloging references, calibers and most of the dial variations is already done. To me, though, it's much more fun to scour vintage advertising of lesser-known brands, hunt for old catalogs, and sift through auction listings to build up your own knowledge of what is original and correct. And of course share that knowledge with others on a thread like this one!

Wise words. That is the fun and work of collecting. Pretty clear that that smaller chrono brands are going to appreciate. Being time challenged sucks! This stupid job (that allows me to spend money on watches) has to go!!!!!

I do share same thoughs as above : Gallet is for me still understated and let to the collector a wide field of research and study while it is les and less the case for other more important brands.
I find one recently and I will try to find more 😉

Hi all,

I saw two different font in Gallet writing, especially in the shape of the G (one more rounded and the other more angular) .
Also some have T in the subdial at 6hr while some does not.
It tried to link the font of Gallet to the T or not T dial but without sucess as I found every combination possible.
Does anyone here has ever studied this and would have a first answer?
I was told that one of the font with rounded G was an old redial but I doubt it...

All I know is the more ornate G is a later font. Or so I've been told.

Love Gallets! Here's my EP40, with the Excelsior Park movement. Possibly redialed subdial at 3:00? Not sure…
