Here is more content since mine is an earlier drilled version in gold capped compared to what I think is a later with the straighter lugs postade above

Yup, mine is a later non-drilled 2852-16 with “thinner” lugs. Was finally able to source a 1502 BOR for it:

Compared to the later without drilled lugs which has the more straight and ”thinner” lugs.

I've noticed the same thing with my 2887 which is screw-back version of 2852. Mine is later version with longer thinner lugs.

Maybe only two 2852 lug designs exist?

Don't forget about solid gold version with ultra slim and curved lugs.

I deliberately kept it out of the thread but since you insist 😀

I don’t know why this isn’t on my wrist more regularly....

Isnt this a 14381, though? 😀

You’re right @MtV, my bad! I always mix up the late 50s/early 60s Constellations.
The crown gives it away 😀

For those of you with the 2852-7 with hexagon crown, does it ever become difficult to wind? I'm wondering if I need to get mine serviced or if this hexagon crown is just inherently difficult to grip to wind?

Quite possibly both, actually. Those crowns are a pain in the a... but on my serviced examples, it's still ok-ish. Worse than most other crown styles with only a few exceptions (hello, clover crown!), but definitely still usable. If you haven't had your watch serviced in 5+ years and it's increasingly hard to wind, that pretty much sounds like a visit to your watchmaker is in order.

I just discovered this thread because the 2852 is the next Omega I will purchase. I have reviewed every single post in about 30min. 😀

I am in awe of some of these examples. I had to dab my mouth because I was drooling by the end. 😲😲😲😲

I always wondered why one would need one, until I got watches with a decagonal crown!
