This one was sold by an auction house - couldn't let this go to someone else 😁

Came with the original Omega strap and buckle
Impressive condition. I wonder where it was stored to preserve the dial so well. It has definitely not had much wrist time! Congrats!!

Fresh back from service!

Is there any difference in the 2852 cases (thinking of the gold capped ones now), since the case/lugs/edges varies a lot. Or is it just a matter of polishing over the years?

I have steel 2852's in three versions, with drilled [2852-4, 2852-7] and undrilled [2852-15] lugs. I can supply more pictures if desired.
Unfortunately, I do not know the exact reference number of my gold plated 2852, but its drilled lugs looks exactly like the steel sisters.
2852-7 with bracelet, 2852-15 with strap:

Thanks for sharing.

So there is an obvious difference on the lugs on the earlier 2852 with drilled lugs which have the bigger edge where the lugs meets the case as well as an bigger curve on the lugs.
Compared to the later without drilled lugs which has the more straight and ”thinner” lugs.

Here is more content since mine is an earlier drilled version in gold capped compared to what I think is a later with the straighter lugs postade above:

Maybe only two 2852 lug designs exist? Here is my drilled lug gold cap.

Btw, the drilled lugs work best for me. The undrilled have the spring bars further away from the wrist, or so it feels. For a man with stick wrists that is not good 😉
