I always wondered why one would need one, until I got watches with a decagonal crown!
I never wind them. They start when I close the clasp.

I recently purchased this gold cap 2852 from 1957 but unfortunately, it came with a clover crown.

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a 4219 thick decagonal crown? Tried searching Cousins UK and a few other sites with no luck. Help is much appreciated. Thank you!

Regards,
Hensley

Congrats with your excellent find. Very rare dial in really good condition!
I would ask around at small independent watchmakers. A lot of them keep spares. But it is still discussed whether some Connies left Bienne with a clover crown - see Desmond's blog where there is an entry about this issue.

Thank you! I was worried that the dial might have been redone since I could not find many pieces that look similar on the internet. Glad I made the choice to snag it.

I read Desmond’s blog (link below) about the crowns used for 50s Connies but his conclusion was that decagonal crowns are correct. I am still a little confused.

@Hensley I'm not sure but I think this one would be the correct crown to the 2852, I have an unopened one I'm not planing to use if you are interested. This is a thick decagonal crown, part number: 069SX42019

The correct service crown, if I may add. The period correct ones have the flat foot logo.

Yes of course, thought that already was pretty clear since its sitting in an unopened package and not what an 70 year old crown would look like 😀

@MtV @hejsam
Thank you both for your replies. I will try searching for a period correct crown again. 😉
They are made of unobtanium. If you want a decagonal crown, I would strongly suggest you to make a deal with @hejsam 😀

That’s also a service item though? At best. With that slightly wonky Omega logo I’m not even sure tbh.
Yes of course. I had some concerns about the originality also but I'm no crown expert, especially on service crowns.

Thank you all for your replies! As hejsam mentioned, I purchased the crown on ebay since the seller seemed reliable and the price was very reasonable. It may take up to a month to get to where I am (Japan) but I will update everyone with pictures once it arrives as there might be others who are searching for the same service crown. 😀

@MtV, I believe it should be “flat feet” logo like this one.

Looks like the cap on your crown is ready to go my friend.
