Should I Purchase this '78 Quartz Seamaster?

Hiya @STANDY, actually that watch would have been ideal except that I am steering away from a manual wind and toward an automatic movement - although I don't really know why other than the need to rewind it all the time - and I'll go days without wearing it of course. Anyone have any thoughts on manual v automatic? You gotta really want the manual version, right?

Guys, my alternative is this at around A$1,600. 1971 168.0056 and Calc. 1011 - Although more expensive of course, is this the more prudent purchase do you think...? I really like them both. Which one would I regret most not buying? That is the question from @MRC above...
No question .. this watch is worth to buy .. better than the quartz one ..

Many, many here wind a Speedmaster daily. 😉

Having many manual and automatic it is not a worry.

$1000 gives you scope to buy a nice automatic. ( albeit vintage Omega watches are a touch more expensive in Australia than many other countries )

If you go days between wearing, you'll find yourself winding either regardless, unless you have an auto-winding watch box. Think of winding your watch as a Zen thing...a moment to reflect on its beauty, and the kicking of ass that you plan to do in the coming hours of the day.

^ Sound advice @Syzygy, it is clear thou art wise in the ways of watches and winding...
