Which "World Time" watch should I purchase?

I am considering adding a World Time watch to my collection.
My opening budget is no more than $1,500.
I like both the Longines and Tissot models shown in the attached images for purely cosmetic reasons and welcome any expert opinions on the relative merits of one vs the other?
Any other suggestions within my budget would also be welcomed.
Thanks.

I find the inner city disk layout of the Tissot to be more legible and intuitive than the outer city disk. It also looks different from any other watch dial. But the Longines has a date complication and a more refined finish.

and Tissot models shown in the attached images

mil unfamiliar with this Tissot but find myself a little unsure of its approach

am I correct that at all times the inner-disc rotates relative to the dial’s fixed 24hr scale, while the 3-hand setup actually relates not to the dial but instead a (presumably fixed) bezel with the 12hr “local” time indexes?

A bit interesting - not sure if odd - to have watch with the 12hr local time read from the bezel

back to your question: one possibly irrelevant factor to explore is the relative current service costs of these two watches. I believe with some internet searching or calls to boutiques you could find the current “menu” for routine service costs.

I’d half expect them to be roughly similar, but not a terrible idea to know beforehand if otherwise

I love the styling of the Tissot but it’s a biggie. They really inflated it over the original for which it’s modeled at 36mm. If they had done it at 39-40 I would own one.

Yes. The original watch designers felt that the placement of the local time indexes "at the greatest possible radius" was optimal for frequent viewing:

I agree that 43mm is a bit too much, I should have noticed that
Here's a nice one from 1997 that is only 36mm but seems to be quite a bit more expensive than the 43mm model

What year did the original come out?

Thanks.

I find the Longines to be a more understated classical look but it's personal preference.
Set them side by side and follow your eyes!

great document, thanks. I have a thing for multi-time watches but have never really focused on this model

personally, I’d now like one as an example of an interesting idea that didn’t pan out (that the “most used” time should be at the outermost periphery, to include the bezel)
