Should I not use my chronograph?

That's definitely one of the better things I've heard about mechanical watches.

I have a 9300 chronograph that I use all the time. Whether I'm actually timing something, using the right sub dial as a second time zone, or just because I feel like it.

If anything, you should make sure to regularly run the chronograph just to ensure even movement of the lubricants. At least a full 12 hours so the hands get a full rotation.

Do get it serviced though. If you were the original owner and knew what the watch had been through, you might be able to hold off for a few years. In this case, I think you should have it done for peace of mind. As far as value goes, it may go down for some rare and hard to find vintage watch that wasn't handled properly. Not for something like this.

In the first place, if I were you, I would never buy a watch from such an idiot.

Better think twice about using it to tell time too. Just let it run down and wear it like a house-arrest bracelet.

He showed me how the two red dots on the back aligned perfectly which means it had never been opened.

You can buy the paint to do this yourself or use nail polish...

Keep away from this guy.......

Well it's actually one red dot, so if there are two I would be suspicious of that. It's just red model paint, so not anything special that some can't buy and apply themselves...
