Hi all,
Are there any decent selling platforms for me to advertise a watch on?
10% on eBay is quite a chunk out of a 3k sale.
Cheers.

You could try Chrono24. It has some pitfalls (as does eBay&PayPal) but has a good escrow service and a quick replying customer service. Sadly they just last year massively bumped up their cut on sales but it still less than eBay.

I think Chrono takes around ~6% as their cut.

Chrono24 takes 6.5% on selling price and shipping.

You have to add PP fee (4%) to this 10% so is more than double!
Chrono24 is specialized to watches and escrow service is a plus

Wait until eBay has a £1 sale offer, that’s all you pay apart from PayPal charges.
There’s one on at the moment, but you have to sign up for it.

I seem recall I got an email just yesterday, offering £1 until the end of May 😉

Worth checking junk mail

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you want the most money, put in your time on that platform. Ebay is not for the faint of heart--especially if you have little or no feedback. It also charges a good bit for the service. The forum here looks like a good spot, but you need to participate for a while and add value. If you are looking for a quick exit, a low price on WUS or C24.

The one thing eBay offers for it's cut is the largest customer base in the world, this is something no other platform can match.

Actually Ebay’s final value fee of 10% is capped to a ADU$440 - for items such as watches where the 10% may be higher than $440, Ebay only charge the flat fee of AUD$440. I’ve recently sold 3 watches on Ebay, 2 of which were above $10K sales and each time i was only invoiced for a flat fee of AUD$440 - I’m talking about Ebay.com.au.

In that instance, it was cheaper to sell on Ebay than Chrono24 with its 6.5% commission on any value....

Yes, I think that the caps are also in that same ballpark in Europe and the UK also. But in the US, the final value fee cap is $750 cap. Really a large discrepancy compared to the other geographical regions.

That's why I'm asking, duh!

I linked the above to help you, so you wouldn’t get people telling you, you can’t sell here. 😉 (And not having a shot at you )

Since people already know OP wishes to sell his PO and a member here PMs him for it, that will not be a violation of the rules?

Just a curious question. Not interested in OP’s PO if that’s the same as the avatar. Am hunting for a particular PO though.

If this post is a violation, my apologies in advance.

WUS and TRF are good options. Reddit is an option as well.

Reddit is a good one—I forgot that option.

It's probably for the best, if my experience in trying to sell anything on here is the norm.

To each his own i guess. This forum has an interesting philosophy on sales posts. I like it.
