Never owned a Seiko but have two in my dresser right now. A friend dug up the matching Mens and Ladies Seiko Quartz watches he got for himself and his long deceased wife many years ago and asked if I could find batteries for them.

Had a hard time finding the 370 battery for the 7N43 but the ladies version used the standard 377.

Trying to find a tutorial on disassembly of his odd model of 5M62 so I can replace the crystal. So far it appears his watch has a much smaller crystal than the common 30mm used by other 5M62, about 28.5MM. A jeweler told him the gold bezel must come off from the front.

Is that an SKX173? Is it made in Japan or Malaysia?
The case suggests that it’s a 7002-700A, made in July 1990, and the 'international ' version, assuming the case matches the rest of the watch, which I have doubts about, having acquired it as a 'pre-owned' watch.
But, having said that it’s a nice looking elderly Seiko, which I enjoy wearing.
Thanks for asking

Yeah, it’s nice!

Anyway, I posted a nice and original 6309 before. Wonder if I’m allowed to post a solar...Here goes...

Better not bring a loupe though - slightly questionable finishing on the hands, as shown in second pic...

I was wanting to get a used 6309 or 7002, depending on condition and price and the 7002 came along although, as a 700A it should, strictly, have a Pepsi bezel.
However, notwithstanding the refurbishments, I liked the look of it. I suppose it’s like owning a family mutt as opposed to a pedigree that might win Crufts.

With the way prices of the original 62MAS have gone recently this is the start of a 62MAS Franken project. A lash up of original parts and a reproduction dial and hands. If the original 6217 movement is beyond repair a 6205b will be used instead. Hoping to keep the total cost around US$700.
