Here is my other King Seiko from 1972. It has had a rougher life than my black one but I really like the linen type dial on this.

if only they had a 3 oclock crown, i had to let my skx007 and skx013 cause I just couldnt deal with that

I'm actually a big fan of the crown at 4:00, I feel like it's a thoughtful way integrate it a bit more with the rest of the watch. Of course, it is a bit of a large crown to begin with - I wish it was a little smaller overall, but then again I guess others like the gripability of the larger crown. To each his own...

Which bracelet is that?

This bad boy;

He would only ship to u.k so had to get sent to a family member address and on forwarded. Worth it as spent a long time looking around for one I was happy with, a lot if much pricier ones seemed to look the same so glad I went with this one.

Yea it's definitely different but honestly I quite like it as a point of difference and on a decent sized watch it sits quite well at 4.
Edit; I've honestly never owned or really spent time with other dive watches so can't compare crown size etc...

On a Seiko side I also have the orange dial and chapter ring. Remember seeing them on a watch mixed with the silver hands and black bezel from the skx7, really liked that!

Thank you. I feel I have become a much smarter watch consumer because of this forum. I lurked for a long time but now I wish I would have made my account much earlier. It is one of the very few forums I truly enjoy everyday.

I have received this beauty just now. It is actually a 6217 - 7000 so an early model , looks all original and after i find a nos crystal it is off to a spa treatment . Yes that is dirt...

I finished working on this today

P1020946_zpsxyfkrmxa.jpg

it had a full stripdown service

and is now running very nicely

the dial and hands are in amazing condition (for its age)

P1020910_zpshqirwsp0.jpg

and the movement is very clean

I fitted a NOS crystal, NOS bezel (as I had one) and new gaskets. The bracelet was full of solid black grunge and rust and took ages to clean.

This is a 6139-6011 from 1970 with the early 6139A 21 jewel movement.
