Actually, the US models (the early notch cased -6009, then the "True Pogue" -6005 and the rare and blue-only -6007) never had PROOF on the dial, they only ever had RESIST and then nothing.

To come back to the OP watch, certainly an older AM dial and bracelet, outer bezel... and the chrono hands look a bit dicey to me too. Here's a naked May '75 6030R dial for comparison...

And as for the bracelet, to help identification, here's another tapered H-link bracelet clasp. Look out for the shape of the removable links too - the AM ones are never the same.

 

Yes, Pogue was only resist. By listing the three, i was saying that the Resist was one of three different varieties, not that there were 3 different Pogues.

Well, that depends on what you mean by "Pogue"

IMHO, the Seiko 6139-600x range are all "Pogues" (yellow, blue, silver) and some - 6000 and 6001 - came in PROOF, others - 6001 and 6002, 6005, 6007, 6009 - had RESIST and the later 6002 and 6005s had nothing. And there was the teal sunrise JDM 6002 to mix things up a bit. And of course, the whole "True Pogue" thing that only applies to yellow 6005s, or maybe even yellow 6005s with RESIST...

IMHO, there is only one variation that should be identified as Pogue, which is the watch he wore.

They were all just Seikos until Bruce Lee or Bill Pogue, etc, was spotted wearing one.

I think people call any yellow dial a Pogue because of the initial confusion between the 6002 and 6005. People realized Pogue wore a resist, but not until later did someone sleuth out that the watch worn by Pogue was actually the American version and thus the 6005.

By then, the 6002 had been called a Pogue for so long that it in order to distinguish it from the newly discovered correct version, people referred to the 6005 as a True Pogue. Then there was some sloppiness about when people didn't have a resist dial but were still calling their watch a Pogue. The watch worn by the person who gave it their name is the only one that deserves recognition. Every other version was the result of early misidentification and new collectors unfamiliar with the history.

Of course, they are all interesting and nice watches in their own right. But there's only one Pogue Seiko.

 

So there is only one Pogue. All others are simply 6139-600x then...

I didn't know the difference between the 6002 and 6005s when I was looking for a Pogue. After buying a nice one, I later learned about the particulars. It was important enough that I sold it and went looking for a legit watch.

I have a nice Movado that is close to Jeff Carrs but it's not the same. It's enough to bug me and want the correct one. I describe it as similar to the one Carr wore, as opposed to the Carr Movado.
