Of the solar chronos, I think the SBDL113 (JDM) is the one that interests me the most, although I still hate the big stupid “X” on the dial:

at least it's in the middle of the dial... unlike that date window

Seiko is continuing to turn old classics into 5KX's. I don't mind, but I wish they'd give more watches the 6106-8120 treatment and do a real 1:1 reissue.

Totally agree, would love to have seen a 1:1 of the 6106 8227, think it's a bit of a missed opportunity, what a cool piece. That being said picked one up at a good price on sale and it's nice enough for a 5KX - I'm not a huge fan of the 42.5mm 5KX case being used endlessly, but nice you know.

Yeah, it's a missed opportunity, but that still looks like good, affordable fun!

At least they popped the Kamen Rider reissue into a case similar to the OG model. I'll have to do a side-by-side image, but the proportions are pretty close. I'll have to pull out the calipers but it feels like they just scaled everything up 5-10%.

This one was also part of the 55th Anniversary mega-release, a LE with 6,500 pieces made. A year after original release they are still fairly easy to find at near original MSRP.

It's nicely sized at 36mm and features a translucent, frosted glass caseback, and a uniquely "signed" crown.

Naturally, this one speaks to me personally because I fly helicopters out of the Charles M. Schulz Airport.

Whoa! That's too perfect. They should buy them up and have them as standard issue for all the helicopter crews.

Elon wishes his crappy X logo was as good as the Prospex one. If you hadn't noticed, it's not just an X, it's also got the P and the S in it. Great logo honestly.

This is very cool. I don't have a white dial yet and while I am a big fan of Seiko, I've never owned one. Very tempting...

Check out the Snoopy Surfer, released concurrently with the 'chop chop'. It's a 38mm white dial diver sold with a NATO-style strap. Also very appealing, though I have no personal connection to surfing.

I have just been researching the models myself, haha. I am less of a fan of the diver generally, although the Snoopy motif is just as cool and the caseback is even cooler than the field watch one. But I am a sucker for a field watch, so it's the one you have for me. I'll have to think on that, as the price is a little steep for an impulse buy! Cheapest I could find that would ship to Australia is about $850 AUD on Chrono24, about a $150 premium over the RRP.

Sunrise and Sunset over Lake Suwa. GS sure does love Lake Suwa. Has anyone visited? Is it worthy of all this veneration?

I do really like how GS continues to reference the seasons and landscapes of Japan. If I had the money, I'd love to have a Grand Seiko to wear for every season and geography.

I got this in an email this morning if any use to UK members (just to clarify that I recently purchased a watch from them so they're obviously after more business but I am not affiliated with them in any way)
I can't however figure out how to post links here so a couple screen shots of the email will have to suffice and Google will have to be your friend if any more info is required

Darn don’t know how “new” this is but I “need” a chronograph after the tragic loss of my favorite one when I was a bit ill. Anyway was looking at those seiko solar ones came across this, I think at the price there are other things I can ponder but still a looker. Mind you I still don’t like the X on the dial but I think I could take it right off with an eraser or something dials are easy peasy what could go wrong

Yeah, everything is great about that watch but the price! That's almost used speedy territory.

I love the dial on this but it's way out of my price range.

Oh that’s busy but damn the color is blazing. I can hear the seiko ad script in my head. “As the beautiful Forrest’s of North America burn to a crisp again this summer, seiko catches the beautiful hues of natures destruction.”

I gained a new appreciation for the Prospex X logo when someone pointed out it's a P, an S and an X all in one. It is actually a very clever logo.

Despite that, none of Seiko's chronograph models mesh with me generally. I dunno what it is exactly.
